Here be the basic high n' tight design of tricorne favoried by most Navy of the Golden Age. All pirate hats are cocked up with the standard black ribbon unless ye purchase a colored ribbon. If ye be unsure about what kind of hat ye need, you can't go wrong with this old standard.

Custom Made Tricorn Pirate Hat

The tricorne is a style of hat that was popular during the late 17th century n' 18th century. At the peak of its popularity, the tricorne was worn as civilian dress n' as part of military n' naval uniforms. Its distinguishing characteristic be a practical one: the turned-up portions of the brim formed gutters that directed rainwater away from the wearer's face, depositing most of it over his shoulders. The hat was typically worn with the point facing forward. Military n' naval versions usually bore a cockade or other national emblem at the front, but as pirate, ye can wear anything ye dam well please.

All of my custom pirate hats be made of 100% real wool felt that be nice n' thick, not thin n' wimpy like others. It's become very hard to come by good quality wool hat blanks. We steam n' shape these fine tricornes right in arrr very shop after ye has ordered them. It takes about 5 days to make a simple hat and 10 days for a more complex one. No more being on a wait list for 3 to 6 month before getting a custom hat. We don't offer special coating or treatments.

3 Simple Steps: Figure out yar size, Pick the color n' style of yar hat, Add some Accessorites to personalize yar new hat, so remember to jump to the hat fixin' page (it has lot of grand example of we've made). Are basic hat come with a ruff edge to give ye a worn look of an old deck hand. If ye order any kind of trim or edging, then we will trim the edges of the hat to give it a clean look. Only order one hat at a time or we may confuse them, as we be simple pirates.

Sizing: Use a tape measure around your head about one inch above your eye brow. Add 1/2 inch to yar measurement to allow for yar bandana & when yar head expands during the heat.

Landsmen Tricorn

Here be a low n' narrow designed favored by colonials n' landsmen alike. Some maties like the streamline look that doesn't caugh the wind as much. Make sure you roll over each image to get the side view of each pirate hat.

Swashbuckler Hat

Not really a tricorne, but a cavalier hat, which be popular before the tricorne came into fashion. This is the style worn by Captain Barbosa. Includes a ribbon hat band. This hat is cock up on the right or left side, depending on who ye wears it. Doesn't include feathers, but the style requires many feathers to make it look correct.

Bosun Tricorn

Based on the Able Seamen Tricorn, but with the back rolled as will as the sides rolled in slightly. This is the style worn by Capt Jack Sparrow, but in wool instead of leather, which pirates didn't wear as it was too hot n' heavy.

1st Mate Tricorn

Based on the Able Seamen Tricorn, but with a large triangle front peak instead of the simple fold. This is the hat used on the Pirate Fashions Logo. Any hat can be worn by a krew member of any position, as these are just names.

Captains Tricorn

Based on the Able Seamen Tricorn, but with a double front peak instead of the simple fold. This is one of arrr most popular styles, as it look very distinct, especially with edging, trim, hat pins n' feathers.

Crow Nest Hat

Like the Cavalier hat, but is cocked in the front instead of the side. Look fer an unobstructed view of the forward position. This is style that Captain Kid wore. Doesn't include hat pin, but looks really good with one on it, arrrrgh! Includes a ribbon hat band.

Gunners Tricorn

This unique tricorne has a split in the front, which gives the front a horn like appearance. The back drops down instead of folding up. This style is made famous by Captain Davy Jones. All pirate hats are cocked up with the standard black ribbon unless ye purchase a colored ribbon.
